Long-term, trouble-free use. It is human nature to push technical equipment beyond its limits. In the case of data shredders this results in jamming of the cutting unit and stoppage.
In the intimus®PRO data shredder series, from model 38 upwards, this situation is guarded against as standard by the DLS Dynamic-Load-Sensor. DLS detects the paper volume as it is feed into the cutting unit. The result of this measurement is communicated to the user by changing colours, like traffic lights, of a light strip in the paper feed area.
Tests have proved that the colour change of the dynamic load sensor quickly sensitizes the user to a balanced infeed of paper.
Step 1
Green means that the amount of paper fed into the shredder is within the noncritical range of capacity.
Step 2
At yellow DLS has found that the amount of paper is within the ideal range of capacity
Step 3
At red the amount of paper fed into the shredder is at the upper limit and the cutting unit might block.
